Originally developed and administered by the Canadian Urban Transit Association, the Transit Ambassador program has become a benchmark in  transit training. Designed to equip front-line, planning, maintenance and technical staff with the skills needed to create improved transit environments, the program quickly gained recognition for its effectiveness and relevance.

What began as a Canadian initiative soon expanded beyond borders, with transit agencies across the United States adopting the training programs to support their own workforce development needs. As the challenges of public transit evolved, the Transit Ambassador program adapted to meet them head-on.

Today, Transit Ambassador is more than a training program—it’s a shared standard of excellence in transit professionalism. With decades of experience behind it, and a footprint that spans North America, the program continues to empower agencies of all sizes to deliver exceptional service through skilled and confident staff.
